Welcome to The Armchair

Updated: Sep 2, 2018

This is where opinions belong. The Armchair is founded by three journalists who regularly meet to talk about sports, movies, series and music. Sports certainly is a topic that generates heated discussion, and they felt it was time for them to share their thoughts with other sports fans around the world.

Wherever you are, sports fans will have something to say. To be fair, its fans who make the game. However, sports these days have evolved, and we are seeing egos, money and primadonnas hogging the headlines.

These situations lead to fans giving their thoughts and some organisations dismiss them as armchair critics. To them, it is a pinch, but we think armchairs have every right to question moves and motives of teams.

They too sacrifice time, money and effort to spur their beloved teams. The Armchair is a platform for fans to raise their concerns and also their thoughts on problems plaguing certain sports.

All sports fans, whether they love football, basketball, golf, or er...badminton, have one thing in common: they all have an opinion. It is what gives their fandom meaning, the one thing above all that connects the fan to the sport and team they love. They are sure they know best, and they want the world to know it.

Here are the hands behind The Armchair...

Loghun Kumaran

A fan of Man United, UFC and rock music who will basically only write about the first two. For all the rubbish he spews, there is no doubt that he will start giggling like a schoolgirl if he ever meets anyone barely related to either sports organisation. Will also gladly bore you to death about superhero movies and how Littlefinger is the best character in Game of Thrones. Also, his hair isn't that long anymore.

John Bunyan

Loves everything French and Japanese. The semi-pro footballer, who believes chocolate is the elixir of life, loves rabonas and outside of the foot shots. He is a disciplined footballer with an eye for flamboyance. Was on the path of greatness with football but God had other plans for him. For over three years, he has been bagging front pages on a regular basis! Great with his feet and hands. Also, the Gods are in awe of his majestic beard.

T. Avineshwaran

Do not be fooled by that picture. He is a "sleazy" lad but with a keen eye on sports. He will talk footie all day long unless enticed by Tapas and cakes. The Ipoh boy is a successful manager for Real Madrid in Football Manager 2018 and has enticed Gareth Bale to be his chief scout in the 2023/2024 season. Use to bore people with community and political stories but now hopes to stir up "brawls" and "fights" with his commentaries.
